Nissan Tiida definitely won't become a household name for modern design flair and an exciting driving experience, but then perhaps that was never the intention of the folks at the factory! Inside the Nissan Tiida: Apart from reliability, the availability of ample space is probably what the 2006 Nissan Tiida will become admired for - and no, we're not referring to the 18 storage compartments spread around these cars, but to the fact (according to the manufacturer) that they have the roomiest interior in their class.
Most reviewers of these cars have remarked extensively about the massive head- and legroom both in the front and back of these models.
To take things just a step further, The company has also introduced a sliding back seat on the hatchback versions. The rear bench can move back 240mm and recline, which allows you to control precisely the cabin legroom and the amount of boot space available: the latter can grow to a massive 463 litres, which compares excellently to the 467 litres of the sedan's boot.
And if that still doesn't satisfy you, most models have 60/40 split rear seats to further increase the useful luggage space.

Under the Nissan Tiida's bonnet: Nissan has introduced an all-new aluminum engine series for which they claim excellent fuel economy and responsiveness.
Reviewers and the results of road tests seem to agree that the 1.6 litre petrol engine is sufficiently powered for these cars, but that more excitement can be had by opting for the 1.8 litre with a six-speed gearbox and output of 95 kW at 5 200 r/min. Torque comes in at a useful 175 Nm at 4 800 r/min for this engine.

Nissan Tiida driver's perspective: The company cannot be faulted for excellent ergonomics in designing the fascia, and all the controls are easily and logically found and operated.
The vehicle has all the usual features such as power steering, power-operated side mirrors, air conditioner and six-speaker CD player, with leather and all-round electric windows depending on the model you select - making for some entertaining writing in media such as Car Magazine or Car And Driver Magazine.

Driving the Nissan Tiida: While the Tiida range are not cars to recommend to driving enthusiasts, they get you where you want to be effortlessly, in comfort, reliably and safely, thanks to an adequate range of safety features.
On the Visia+ and Acenta models you will find an Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist and dual front airbags. Side curtain airbags are available on the Acenta models.
The manufacturer has also spent some time making sure that road noise and engine vibration are kept to a minimum, and reviewers have attested to a very quiet drive for a car in this class.
