The new Peugeot 107, a joint venture with Citroen and Toyota, is receiving above-average ratings in reviews since its South African launch this month. It is no wonder, as Peugeot 107 ads have stirred up quite a storm over this smiling set of wheels!
Not only is this 3.4m long car's outside length (or lack of it!), combined with excellent space for four adults inside, causing reviewers to sit up and take note (with ample head room to spare!). The occasion also revealed as standard equipment a number of high-tech features, many of them in the safety arena. This is excellent news as far as car insurance rates are concerned.
There seems to be agreement about the new Peugeot 107 that the little car is very spacious for a tiny city hopper, and this assessment includes the getting in and out part: the roof and seats are high, and the doors open wide.

You will also be satisfied with the attention to the interior detail: there are lots of little storage spaces, and the rear bench makes provision for Isofix child seats.
Reviewers at sea level have been happy to report that the Peugeot 107 engine - supplied by Toyota - adequately powers the car with 50kW and 93Nm of torque through a five-speed gearbox (also from Toyota). The 1-litre engine includes variable camshafts and 4 valves per cylinder. The cheeky set of wheels is game for almost any challenge thrown at it.
The vehicle offers a well-forward windscreen, and excellent visibility. The instruments are well-placed, and the speedometer moves along with the adjustable (and collapsible!) steering column.
For easy city steering it offers power steering as standard. However, if you tackle longer distances this clever, power-conserving steering assist will switch itself off when not needed and consequently add a few more kilometers to the already long range of around 1000km...
Peugeot South Africa has seen to the usual CD radio and aircon optional extras, and the CD-player will even permit you to play your (kid's!) MP3's.
Being a small city car the Peugeot 107 is, well, small and doesn't offer loads of luggage space. However, you can improve the new 107's luggage hauling capabilities by paying a bit more for a split rear bench.
Also, don't expect a rev counter as standard (you will have to buy that extra, too!).
With its wide grille-grin the little 107 will be a welcome sight everywhere you go, and the car considerably improves your chances of reaching your destination safely. It offers a number of high-tech safety features as standard: ABS brakes, brake distribution and cornering stability assist, as well as front airbags.

Road tests in the UK, South Africa and elsewhere have delivered mostly favorable results. Judging by its popularity, the new Peugeot 107 in Deutsch is just as desirable!
With the new Peugeot 107 price coming in at under R90 000 for the entry-level model, it is no wonder that sales are galloping along at a furious pace. Dealer insurance rates are also reasonable as a result of the affordable price-tag. The logo is becoming a familiar sight on the road, especially among the younger generation. The hippest of the hip are flocking to dealers from Romania to Manchester and South Yorkshire in the UK, car dealers in the US, and South African dealerships, to take a look at this zippy vehicle.
In South Africa it will probably still be a while before the 107 makes it appearance in used dealer showrooms or at repossessed car auctions. Once you have one of these, there is just no way that you will let it go again!
There's a 107 smiling on a Peugeot dealership showroom floor somewhere just for you...
